The Spartan Football team earned its first ever West Tennessee Sectional Championship in football October 22 by defeating Haywood Middle School 36-6. Earlier in the week, the Spartans won the SCIAA championship by defeating Wooddale Middle to earn the spot in the Sectional game. The win over Haywood capped off an undefeated season. The Spartans were lead by Deon Silas who was named the MVP of the sectional game; however, Deon declined the award deciding that his offensive line should receive the honor. Congratulations to Coach Thornton and the Spartan Football Team.
